Beginner's Yoga
Beginner’s Yoga: These classes are designed for people who have never done yoga or it’s been a long time. We will go through sun salutations and classic poses, just like any other yoga class, but we go slowly, intentionally, and in a learning environment. You are encouraged to ask questions to discover the best modifications for your body.
Traditional Hatha
Hatha Yoga: The original yoga asana practice. Classes are work a specific area (for strength and flexibility). Poses become more intense until peak pose. Counter poses (usual stretches) help return the body to neutral. The practice ends with a 10-15 minute meditation.
(Perfect for everyone!)
Vinyasa (Slow Flow)
Vinyasa (Slow Flow): I will guide you through traditional series, sun salutations, classic poses, and floor work. This is a slower flow style practice (holding poses for 1-5 breaths) to promote awareness and a greater connection of body and mind.
Power Yoga
Power Yoga: This intense practice starts with Sun Salutations: Surya Namaskar A&B x5.
You will be expected to know most modifications for your body. You should already have some level of fitness and yoga experience to join this class. It is preparation for Ashtanga Vinyasa.
Ashtanga Vinyasa
Ashtanga Vinyasa: This class should not be taken unless you have a steady practice in intense styles, are able to do sun salutations and provide your own modifications. We do exactly the series and do not deviate. This style of yoga has been used to train soldiers in India for over a hundred years.
Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga: A slow-paced, meditative class targeting deep connective tissues. This class will challenge you to sit with your discomfort and thoughts. The extended periods of time in the poses allows for greater release of muscles, facia and the ego.
Restorative Yoga
Restorative Yoga: When you just need to feel like you can completely let go, surrender, relax and heal. This practice is all about comfort and feeling safe. You are guided into very supported poses and you get cozy while your body gets heavier and you mind becomes calmer with your breath.
Rest & Reset -Yin & Restorative
Rest & Reset: The first half of the practice starts yin yoga poses. The second half is fully supported restful and restorative postures. This practice calms the nervous system and supports deep healing.
Gentle/Chair
Gentle/Chair Yoga: A great option for those with low mobility. This class is designed for mostly doing the poses in the chair or standing with using the chair for support.
